...the Morse Farm
Maple Sugarworks

The Morse Farm, located a couple miles outside of Montpelier, is a fun "field trip" for anyone interested in how maple syrup is processed, from tree to bottle.

In the lead today is Burr Morse, an 8th generation follower in the business. The family ancestors were taught how to tap maple trees by Native Americans.

The farm, a living museum of sorts, has a video theater made from a woodshed, a gift shop and all sorts of farm paraphernalia. On every available outdoor space are pieces of wooden "art" made by Burr himself, unique, creative and funny. Guests are also invited to check out the maple trees to see how they're tapped in the spring.

Mr. Burr Morse is quite a character, evident in his video narration of the farm works. Also he's not short on creativity, imagination and sense of humor. He's the one who created these pieces of "art."
