Mt. Rainier

There's so much more to Mount Rainier than just the mountain. She is, afterall, in a national park. But even we traveling retirees, albiet rarely, have deadlines and schedules, so I wasn't able to spend as much time as I wanted here.

So, on a mid-afternoon I headed up to the Paradise Visitor Center and was greeted with a splendid view of Rainier's south face and the gorgeous red ground cover that lay at her feet.

Mount Rainier rises 14,411 feet and is considered a dangerous volcano.

Narada Falls
A short distance from the Paradise area is Narada Falls. A short trail from the falls' parking lot offers a perfect view of the complete 168-foot drop.
