one of Maine's many, many islands

Southport is a small town on an island of the same name. It lies just a couple miles south of Boothbay. It has a beach and it's home to Hendricks Head Lighthouse.

The Hendricks Head Lighthouse that we see today was built in 1875. It lies at the mouth of the Sheepscot River. The keeper's house is a private residence.
